Cedar Plank Salmon

Plank Grilling Method

Soak: Soak grilling planks in water for 1-8 hours, making sure the grilling plank is completely submerged.  A longer soak reduces the chance of flare-ups, and creates more steam to carry the flavor of the wood into your food.

Make Sure to soak your grilling plank in water before using

*An excellent soaking vessel for small to medium-sized grilling planks is a 13″x 9″ baking dish.

*If you are feeling adventurous, soak your planks in wine, beer, juice or stock.

Preheat: Grill to a medium heat of 350°-400°F (177°-205°C).

Prepare: Have a spray bottle of water ready for flare-ups (see last photo).

Grill: Add food to soaked grilling plank, place loaded plank on grill, close the grill lid and cook. No flipping required. Cook until your food is done to your specifications.

Make sure you keep a spray bottle of water handy while grilling with planks.
